I am committed to making our Albany community a better place to live, and have the experience and knowledge to meet the challenges of our time to continue to preside over the City of Albany's domestic violence court.
While I am very dedicated to my work in the courts, my commitment to our Albany community is equally as strong. I was born and raised here in Albany, and raised my three kids here too. They each graduated from Albany High, and I continue to volunteer at the high helping to coach our very successful mock trial team. I also give back to Albany by serving on the board of directors for the Albany County Bar Association, the Albany Chapter of the ADK, and Tivoli Lake Preserve and Farm. I also run the Elks Club's third grade dictionary project.
I am running to continue my work as an Albany City Court Judge handling the Domestic Violence Court because I have the experience and knowledge necessary to ensure that in each case truth is paramount and justice is served for every individual. A trial by jury is the ultimate search for truth, and over the past ten years I've conducted far more jury trials than any other city court judge in our seven county district.
I've used my deep knowledge of the rules and procedures to craft the guidelines that were implemented during the pandemic shutdown to ensure that our courts in Albany remained open virtually and that the courts in our district were able to conduct prompt virtual preliminary hearings. I’ve handled thousands of cases from arraignment through trial. Ensuring fairness and justice in all cases, from the simplest matters to the most complex and difficult domestic violence cases.
